Albany, NY – Well the Yankees settled for a doubleheader split...

On the diamond in Cincinnati, Jorge Posada lifted a go-ahead, two run shot in the sixth, as the Yankees took the opener of the twinbill from the Reds 4-2. In the nightcap, Chris Heisey belted three homers and drove in five, as Cincinnati crushed New York 10-2.

In Boston, Will Venable launched a leadoff homer and Clayton Richard worked five strong innings, as San Diego worked over the Red Sox 5-1 in a rain-shortened affair.

In Queens, Justin Turner was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 13th, allowing the Mets to walk away with a 3-2 win over Oakland.

In other Interleague action, Cleveland beat Colorado 4-3, Arizona dumped Kansas City 3-2, San Francisco topped Minnesota 5-1, Tampa Bay doubled up Milwaukee 6-3, Atlanta downed Toronto 5-1, the White Sox dropped the Cubs 4-3, Houston edged Texas 5-3, Detroit got by the Dodgers 7-5, Washington outlasted Seattle 2-1 in 11, the Angels held off Florida 6-5, and Pittsburgh nipped Baltimore 5-4.

In the lone NL contest, Cliff Lee fired a complete game, six hitter, as Philadelphia shutout St. Louis 4-zip.

At Wimbledon, Venus Williams staggered into the third round of play by outlasting Kimiko Date-Krumm 6-7, 6-3, 8-6. Other second round winners included Vera Zvonareva and Victoria Azarenka.

On the Men's side, defending champ Rafael Nadal breezed through Ryan Sweeting in straight sets to advance to Round 3. Andy Murray, Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish have also advanced.

In soccer news, Clint Dempsey's goal in the 77th minute helped the U.S. Men's soccer team blank Panama 1-0 to advance to Saturday's Gold Cup final. The Americans will face Mexico for the title.

And in NBA news, the 2011 NBA Draft gets underway tonight at 7.
