Plattsburgh, NY – President Obama's troop reduction plan will bring 33,000 troops home from Afghanistan by next summer. 10,000 will leave by the end of this year, 20,000 more by September 2012. Active duty members of the NY Army National Guard cannot express individual opinions about the President's plan. Public Affairs Officer LT Colonel Richard Goldenberg says the President's remarks related to future orders, and they are focused on a planned mobilization of more than 2000 guard members scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in early 2012.....

American Legion Vermont Commander Edward Brown would like to see more troops come home and says an orderly draw-down from Afghanistan is needed.....

Dr Stephen Leibo doubts the President's withdrawal down plan will satisfy supporters or detractors ......

The Ethan Allen Institute is an conservative think tank in Vermont. President John McClaughry.....

Again, the American Legion's Edward Brown..........

After the draw-down, there will be nearly 70,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
