Albany, NY – Well it's been 21 years since the Bruins were in the Stanley Cup finals... and now they're one win away from ending the drought...

Last night in Boston, Tim Thomas turned aside 33 shots and Brad Marchand provided the game-winning tally, as Boston skated past Tampa Bay 3-1 in Game 5. Game 6 is tomorrow in Tampa.

To the NBA playoffs... Last night in Oklahoma City, the Thunder had a 15 point lead with less than five minutes to play... but it wasn't enough. Dirk Nowitzki's 40 points helped rally the Mavericks over the Thunder 112-105 in OT. Dallas now leads the Western Conference final 3-1, and can close out the series at home tomorrow.

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah has been fined $50,000 dollars for directing an anti-gay slur at a fan during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final.

To baseball... In the Bronx, J.P. Arencibia's three-run double capped a five-run sixth, as Toronto dumped the Yankees 7-3.

In Cleveland, Asdrubal Cabrera's RBI single snapped an eighth inning tie, as the Indians downed the Red Sox 3-2.

In other AL action... Texas blanked the White Sox 4-0, the Angels got by Oakland 4-1, Detroit doubled up Tampa Bay 6-3, and Seattle edged Minnesota 8-7.

Over to the NL... Philadelphia drubbed Cincinnati 10-3, Corey Hart homered three times as Milwaukee rocked Washington 11-3, St. Louis held off San Diego 3-1, and Houston beat the Dodgers 4-3.

In cycling news, former international cycling chief Hein Verbruggen has denied allegations that the governing body covered up a suspicious drug test result by Lance Armstrong at the 2001 Tour de Suisse.

And at the French Open... Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer breezed into the second round with straight set wins. Caroline Wozniacki, Vera Zvonareva, and Francesca Schiavone also posted opening round victories. The first round at Roland Garros continues this morning.
