Last night in Atlanta, Derrick Rose dropped in 19 points and dished out 12 assists, as Chicago eliminated the Hawks 93-73. The Bulls will take on Miami in the conference final.
In the Western Conference, Dallas awaits the winner of the Memphis-Oklahoma City series. The Thunder lead 3-2, and play Game 6 tonight.
On the ice in San Jose, Patrick Marleau knocked home a rebound with less than 8 minutes remaining, as the Sharks finally knocked out the Red Wings 3-2 in Game 7. San Jose advances to the Western Conference final against Vancouver, beginning on Sunday.
The Eastern Conference final between Tampa Bay and Boston starts tomorrow night.
To baseball... in Colorado, Carlos Beltran hit a career-high three home runs and drove in six, as the Mets dumped the Rockies 9-5. Beltran is the eighth Met to hit three in a game, and the first since Jose Reyes did it in 2006.
Elsewhere in the NL, Atlanta rallied past Washington 6-5, San Francisco edged Arizona 3-2, St. Louis routed the Cubs 9-1, and the Dodgers-Pirates game was washed out.
Over to the AL... in New York, Melky Cabrera went 2 for 5, including a homer and 2 RBIs, as Kansas City hammered the Yankees 11-5. New York's lost 6 of 9, and open up a series against the Red Sox this weekend.
Elsewhere, Tampa Bay got by Cleveland 7-4, and Baltimore doubled up Seattle 2-1.
And in golf, Tiger Woods has withdrawn from the Player's Championship citing a knee injury. Woods played just nine holes, and shot a 6-over-42. Nick Watney is the tournament's first-round leader after shooting an 8-under-64.
