Albany, NY – A no-no for Liriano...

In Chicago, Twins lefthander Francisco Liriano tossed the first no hitter of the baseball season. Liriano fanned two and walked six in pitching Minnesota over the White Sox 1-0. It's the Twins sixth no-hitter in franchise history.

In Boston, John Lester struck out 11 over seven sharp innings, as the Red Sox downed the Angels 7-3. Boston is within one game of .500.

In Detroit, Brad Penny scattered six hits over six innings of work, as the Tigers doubled up the Yankees 4-2.

Elsewhere in the AL... Kansas City edged Baltimore 6-5, Tampa Bay topped Toronto 3-2, Seattle got by Texas 4-3, and Cleveland rallied past Oakland 4-1.

Over to the NL... In New York, Aubrey Huff launched a tenth inning homer, to lift San Francisco over the Mets 7-6.

Elsewhere... St. Louis held off Florida 7-5, San Diego downed Pittsburgh 6-5, Arizona nipped Colorado 4-3, Houston hammered Cincinnati 10-4, Philadelphia dropped Washington 4-1, and the Cubs beat the Dodgers 4-1. The Braves and Brewers game was washed out.

To the NBA playoffs... In Miami, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh combined for 80 points, as the Heat dumped Boston 102-91. The Heat lead the Eastern Conference semifinal 2 games to none.

In Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant netted 26 points to lead the Thunder over Memphis 111-102, evening the Western Conference semifinal at one game apiece.

In other NBA news, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose has been named league MVP. At 22, Rose is the youngest player ever to win the award.

To the ice... In Tampa Bay, Steven Stamkos and Ryan Malone scored 24 seconds apart in the third, as the Lightning struck down Washington 4-3 to take a 3-0 series lead.

And in Nashville, Ryan Kesler's overtime tally lifted Vancouver over the Predators 3-2. The Canucks lead the series 2-1.
