Albany, NY – Well the Bruins are halfway to reaching the Eastern Conference finals...

On the ice last night in Philadelphia... David Krejci's tally 14 minutes into overtime gave the Bruins a 3-2 win, and sends them back to Boston with a 2-0 series lead. Tim Thomas was phenomenal in net, stopping 46 straight shots. Game three is tomorrow.

To the NBA playoffs... In L.A., Dirk Nowitzki dropped in 28 points, including two free-throws with less than 19 seconds remaining, to lead Dallas over the Lakers 96-94 in the opener of the Western Conference semifinal. Game 2 is tomorrow.

In Chicago, Joe Johnson netted 34 as the Hawks soared past the Bulls 103-95, in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Chicago's Derrick Rose sprained his ankle near the end of the game - he's listed day-to-day. Game 2 is tomorrow.

To baseball... In Boston, Dustin Pedroia lined a go-ahead, two-run single off Jered Weaver to help Boston beat the Angels 9-5.

Nick Swisher ripped a tie-breaking RBI single in the ninth, as the Yankees dumped Detroit 5-3. The Tigers have lost seven straight.

Elsewhere in the AL... Paul Konerko homered twice as the White Sox dropped Baltimore 6-2, and Hideki Matsui's 10th inning bomb lifted Oakland over Texas 5-4.

Over to the NL... Andre Ethier extended his hitting streak to 28 straight games, as the Dodgers downed the Cubs 5-2, Mike Stanton tripled and homered to power Florida over St. Louis 6-5, Tom Gorzelanny and Drew Storen combined on a three-hit shutout as Washington blanked San Francisco 2-nothing, Alex Gonzalez's three-run double gave Atlanta a 6-2 win over Milwaukie, and Garret Jones and Chris Snyder each connected on two-run shots in the first as Pittsburgh edged San Diego 4-3.
