Albany, NY – Well it was a rare sight at Citizen's Bank Park last night in Philadelphia...

Fans of both the Phillies and Mets cheered simultaneously, and chants of "USA!" rose up from the crowd, once the word spread throughout the stadium that Osama bin Laden was dead. Supporters of the two bitter rivals shared hugs and high-fives, as the importance of the baseball game shrunk. The Mets eventually came away with 2-1 win, when Ronny Paulino doubled home the tie-breaking run in the 14th.

Elsewhere in the NL... the Dodgers roughed up San Diego 7-0, Pittsburgh doubled up Colorado 8-4, Florida got by Cincinnati 9-5, Atlanta edged St. Louis 6-5, Washington topped San Francisco 5-2, Houston blanked Milwaukie 5-0, and Arizona nipped the Cubs 4-3.

Over to the AL... In the Bronx, Curtis Granderson's three-run shot capped a four-run fifth, as the Yankees dropped Toronto 5-2.

In Boston, Jed Lowrie tripled and scored on Carl Crawford's single in the bottom of the ninth, as the Red Sox got by Seattle 3-2.

Elsewhere - Cleveland clipped Detroit 5-4, Oakland dumped Texas 7-2, Baltimore beat the White Sox 6-4, Kansas City routed Minnesota 10-3, and the Angels rallied past Tampa Bay 6-5.

To the NBA playoffs... In Miami, Dwayne Wade poured in 38 points, as the Heat scorched Boston 99-90 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

In Oklahoma City... Zach Randolph scored 34 points, as Memphis surprised the Thunder 114-101 in the opener of the Western Conference semifinals.

To the NHL playoffs... On the ice in San Jose, Ian White's goal put the Sharks up for good, as San Jose skated past Detroit 2-1, and lead the series 2 games to none.

And in our nation's Capitol, Vincent Lecavalier's overtime goal gave Tampa Bay a 3-2 win over Washington and a 2-0 series lead.
