Plattsburgh, NY – Officials in Essex County NY are seeking disaster status after closing at least 57 water-covered roads Wednesday night where some of them, and some bridges, caved in. there. Town of Jay Supervisor Randy Douglas, who is also chair of the Essex County Board of Supervisors, says the storms wreaked havoc on the county's infrastructure.....

Lake Champlain is a key concern across the basin, Already above flood stage, it has breached the record set in 1993 and runoff from rivers, streams and rainfall continue to flow into its waters. Clinton County Director of Emergency Services Eric Day says while area rivers are causing some problems, it's the lake level he's watching.....

Officials in Saratoga Springs are assessing the damage from the collapse of an earthen dam that emptied Lewiston Pond. Public Works Commissioner Anthony Scirocco was unavailable in time for this broadcast. The Saratogian reports that there is no imminent health threat anticipated from the silt and debris that entered the area's water supply.
