Albany, NY – Well they won three straight games to force a Game 7, but the defending Stanley Cup champions came up a bit short...
On the ice in Vancouver, Alexandre Burrows' overtime goal helped the Canucks oust Chicago 2-1. Vancouver advances to the Western Conference semifinals.
In Philadelphia, Brian Boucher stopped 25 shots, as the Flyers finished off Buffalo 5-2. Philadelphia advances to the Eastern Conference semifinals.
And in Montreal, the Canadiens forced a decisive Game 7, following their 2-1 win over Boston. Game 7 is tonight.
To the NBA... In Chicago, Derrick Rose poured in a game-high 25 points, as the Bulls eliminated Indiana last night 116-89. Chicago advances to the Eastern Conference semifinals.
In Orlando, Jason Richardson netted 17 points, as the Magic blasted Atlanta 101-76. Orlando still trails in the series 3 games to 2.
And in L.A., Kobe Bryant's 19 points helped the Lakers down New Orleans 106-90. L.A. leads the series 3-2.
To the diamond... In the Bronx, Paul Konerko launched a go-ahead, two-run shot in the eighth, as the White Sox rallied past the Yankees 3-2.
In Baltimore, Zach Britton allowed one run over six solid innings, as the O's dumped the Red Sox 4-1, snapping Boston's five-game winning streak.
In other AL action... the Angels roughed up Oakland 8-3, Cleveland crushed Kansas City 9-4, Toronto trounced Texas 10-3, Seattle sank Detroit 7-3, and the Tampa Bay-Minnesota game was postponed due to rain.
Over to the NL... where Josh Thole smacked a tie-breaking, two-run double in the sixth, as the Mets held off Washington 6-4.
Elsewhere, Arizona outscored Philadelphia 7-5, Milwaukie got by Cincinnati 3-2, Houston nipped St. Louis 6-5, San Francisco edged Pittsburgh 3-2 in 10, Atlanta whipped San Diego 8-2, Colorado clipped the Cubs 4-3, and Florida doubled up the Dodgers 4-2.
