Lacolle, PQ – In September, Enhanced Drivers' Licenses became available in New York State. It's a driver's license with an embedded chip that meets Homeland Security's security ID requirements for crossing U.S. land borders. On Monday the Premier of Quebec announced that his province would be the first in Canada to begin issuing an equivalent secure drivers' license. North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley was at the announcement just across the border in Canada.
