Albany, NY – The number of people on food stamps has increased by nearly 50 percent since 2001. Many social services workers feel the program falls short of recipients' needs, with an average benefit of a little more than $3 a day. Yet there are still many more impoverished people living in the suburbs that are unaccounted for. In the second of his two-part series, Dave Lucas takes a look at the why the numbers don't add up.
