America's Nobel goes to father of neurogenetics

Colonie, NY – The Albany Medical Center Prize, the nation's top prize in the field of medicine second only in the world cash value and prestige to the Nobel prize itself, goes this year to California Institute of Technology Professor Seymour Benzer. Benzer's work is thought to have been the foundation for major advances in the study of genetics-based diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
