Newburgh, NY – New York lawmakers say they breathed sighs of relief that military facilities in the Hudson Valley and Capital Region were, for the most part, spared from the potential axe of the Department of Defense. The news comes as the department today released its list of recommended base closures or realignments. The lawmakers, however, vow to fight the recommendations for a few New York sites.
