Pittsfield, MA – The former Solicitor for the City of Pittsfield, Christopher Speranzo, easily defeated Republican Terry Kinnas in a special election to represent the third Berkshire District on Beacon Hill. Speranzo replaces long-time Pittsfield Representative Peter Larkin, who stepped down soon after his November re-election to become a lobbyist.
But, Speranzo won't have much time to celebrate, as lawmers are already right in the middle of the crucial budget process. WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief John Krol has the story.
