Govt. Fines HV Woman For Travel to Iraq

By Allison Dunne

Kerhonkson, NY – The U.S. government has imposed a fine on a Hudson Valley woman, saying she violated the Iraqi Sanctions Program. The woman had traveled to Iraq as a human shield in 2003, and did so knowing she could face penalties. She says she is taking issue with the government's legal basis that prohibited her travel in the first place. WAMC's Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne reports.
