First responders in Pittsfield, Massachusetts have located and recovered the body of a man reported missing from New York state. The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office made the announcement of the discovery in Pontoosuc Lake Thursday evening, but was withholding the man’s identity until the medical examiner can provide formal identification and notify family.

Pittsfield Police found a vehicle registered to the man near the lake on Monday. Multiple agencies had been searching the lake since Tuesday. Pittsfield Police are still investigating the apparent drowning. Authorities have not found any evidence to suggest anyone else was involved or evidence of foul play.

Colonie, New York Police are assisting in the investigation.
