Mill Town Capital Buys Bousquet

Mill Town Capital

A private investment group has purchased the Bousquet Mountain ski resort in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Mill Town Capital says the deal was finalized after around six months of negotiations with the Tamarack Ski Nominee Trust and owners Sherry and PJ Roberts. CEO and managing director Tim Burke says that the company intends to revamp the 85-year-old outdoor recreation attraction.

“We have a collaboration agreement in place with the owners of Berkshire East and Catamount, Jim and John Schaefer," Burke told WAMC. "So they will support our efforts at Bousquet by helping us operate the ski area. They’ll provide recommendations and guidance on capital and infrastructure decisions and the overall on-mountain experience.”

Burke says Mill Town expects to make further announcements about its plans for Bousquet in the next two months.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
