The legislative body in the largest city in western Massachusetts plans to hold its first official remote.meeting on Monday.
The Springfield City Council will have an official meeting, with recorded votes, using the Zoom video conferencing platform.
" It will be streamed live and recorded and uploaded," said City Council President Justin Hurst.
He said the agenda will be limited to finance votes necessary to keep municipal government functioning.
Springfield’s chief finance officer, TJ Plante said cash flow is being monitored on a daily basis to make sure the city can meet its commitments.
The state has authorized cities and towns to extend payment due dates for bills including property taxes, motor vehicle excise, and water and sewer utilities
