Downtown Pittsfield Inc. has launched an online store to support businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The store offers gift cards to over 40 businesses from around Pittsfield. Jesse Cook-Dubin – the president of DPI’s board of directors – says it’s intended to bolster businesses that are reeling from statewide closures ordered by Governor Charlie Baker to slow the spread of coronavirus through at least April 7th.

“I expect it to be really helpful for a business to be able to sell a gift card for say $100 that may not be redeemed at their restaurant until the summer, but it gives them cash right now to keep the lights on, pay their home mortgage, and hopefully keep some of their employees in place,” said Cook-Dubin.
