Vermont Governor Explains Schools Closure Decision

Vermont Governor Phil Scott is discussing his administration’s decision to close all schools in the state by Wednesday.Governor Scott issued a directive Sunday that all schools in the state must close and all school related activities must be suspended no later than Wednesday, March 18 until at least April 6.

On Monday he explained it’s a strategy to slow down the progression of coronavirus in Vermont.  “This decision was made in close consultation with the Department of Health and the Agency of Education.”

On Friday Gov. Scott declared a state of emergency to implement mitigation steps to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.
