UVM President Suresh Garimella announces plan to freeze 2020 tuition

The University of Vermont will freeze tuition next year for all students.
UVM President Suresh Garimella announced that he will present a plan to the Board of Trustees that will freeze 2020 tuition rates at current levels.  “That means no increase for undergraduate students and no increase for graduate students, no increase for in-state students and no increase for out-of-state students.”

Garimella said the college will not increase fees or cut staff or faculty.

UVM has about 10,000 undergraduate students. In-state students are charged $16,000 and out of state $41,000 in tuition.  UVM provides over $160 million in grants and scholarships, allowing 44 percent of in-state students to attend tuition free.
