The Vermont Health Department says physicians have confirmed the first case of vaping-related lung disease in the state.
The health department reported Monday that five suspected cases are also  being investigated.

Health Commissioner Dr. Mark Levine says the only common link so far among the cases is vaping.

On Aug. 29, the health department alerted health care providers to watch for vaping-related illnesses.

Levine is urging people to stop vaping.

As of last Wednesday, 380 confirmed and probable cases and six deaths have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 36 states and one territory. All reported cases have a history of e-cigarette product use or vaping.
