Woofstock 2019 Comes To Pittsfield Sunday

Berkshire Humane Society

The Berkshire Humane Society’s annual fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

County dog walkers – as well as runners, who participate in a parallel 5k event – can register to participate in Woofstock, the canine celebration to support the shelter.

“It’s our annual dog walk," said Executive Director John Perreault. "We walk around Pittsfield. We leave the Common, we walk all the way down First Street to Tyler, Tyler we go up to North, North we come all the way back up North Street along downtown, and then we hang a left on Eagle Street and finish right back up in front of the Common.”

Earlier this week, the BHS took in five shelter dogs displaced by Hurricane Dorian.

The walk – which is preceded by canine games on the common and the 5k run at 10 – begins at 11 a.m.
