"New Horizon" Brings Hot Air Balloon, Futurism, And Rock To Williamstown

The Trustees

Tonight, a massive hot air balloon comes to Williamstown, Massachusetts as part of a statewide art project.

A 100-foot-tall hot air balloon will hover over Field Farm tonight as part of a project by Doug Aitken called New Horizon. Pedro Alonzo is the guest curator for The Trustees of Reservations, the preservation nonprofit behind the series.

“New Horizon is basically a beacon in the form of a hot air balloon that brings people together to experience music, conversation, contemporary art – it’s really a discussion about the future.”

Beneath the balloon, Alonzo and Aitken will talk about the future of culture. Indie rock bands Destroyer and No Age will perform. The event starts at 6 p.m.
