A longtime Pittsfield City Councilor will not seek reelection.
Anthony Simonelli of Ward 7 is the first city councilor to make his intentions for the coming municipal elections clear. On March 14th, the four-term councilor told his constituents via email that his current term would be his last. Citing his wife’s coming retirement and a desire to spend time with his two grandchildren, Simonelli thanked his supporters and said he felt he had stayed committed to his values over nearly eight years in office. His term expires at the end of 2019.
