Berkshire NAACP To Hold Police Discrimination Protest Saturday

The Berkshire Chapter of the NAACP will protest police violence against people of color in Pittsfield this Saturday.

The standout in Park Square, entitled “Speaking Truth To Power,” will focus on police discrimination in the use of sometimes lethal force against people of color. NAACP Berkshire County Branch President Dennis Powell.

“People of color have been killed for cell phones, shower heads, or nothing in their hands,” said Powell.

Speakers at the 2 p.m. rally include Powell, Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer, North Adams Mayor Tom Bernard, State Senator Adam Hinds, local youth, and more.
