A settlement has been reached between a former Berkshire Hills Regional School District counselor and three former students.
The three former students settled for an undisclosed amount, concluding a lawsuit they filed last year against Scott Muir, a former Berkshire Hills Regional School District counselor. The initial lawsuit sought $4.5 million in damages.
The students filed the lawsuit after Muir was acquitted in a criminal sexual abuse trial in 2014.
Muir was a student center support coordinator for the school district between 2002 and 2007. The lawsuit contended he sexually harassed and assaulted the then-students.
