Police in Dalton, Massachusetts will start carrying the overdose reversal drug Narcan as early as next week.

Dalton Police have secured a controlled substance permit from the state Department of Public Health to carry Naloxone – commonly referred to as Narcan.

The department will dip into its drug-seizure fund for $480 to purchase 24 doses.
