Nurses at Berkshire Medical Center have declined what Berkshire Health System calls its “best and final” offer for a new contract.
Last month, 70 percent of the nurses signed and sent a petition to Berkshire Health System’s leadership renewing calls for a fair labor agreement.
BHS says it received the petition, and made a final offer to the Massachusetts Nurses Association on May 3rd.
The MNA put the hospital’s offer to a vote Wednesday, and it overwhelmingly turned down.
The union wants a limit on the number of patients nurses care for, security improvements, and health insurance guarantees.
