After a series of stinging defeats, supporters of legalizing recreational marijuana in Vermont say there are still some positive signs.
Even though the House voted against a Senate-passed legalization bill, the Legislature's Joint Justice Oversight Committee will continue studying the issue during the summer and fall.

Lawmakers did vote to expand the medical marijuana law. Chronic pain was added to severe pain on the list of symptoms for which a patient can get a medical marijuana card, as was the eye disorder glaucoma.

Lawmakers also shortened from six months to three the length of time a person needs to see the same doctor before the physician can allow the patient to use marijuana.
