The city of North Adams is marking May 1 to May 7 as Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week. The nationally-recognized week seeks to increase public knowledge of the challenges children and their families face. WAMC spoke with Mayor Richard Alcombright about the effort along with the move by North Adams to raise the tobacco purchasing age to 21 and the upcoming city budget.
