National Priorities Project Website Shows Where Your Tax Dollars Go

The clock is ticking toward the tax deadline. 

The federal income tax filing date was pushed back to Monday because April 15th was a local holiday in Washington.  Massachusetts taxpayers have until Tuesday to file their federal and state tax returns because Monday is Patriots Day, a state holiday.

Individual income taxes are the largest single source of revenue for the federal government.  To find out how the money gets spent, WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Lindsay Koshgarian, research director for the National Priorities Project, a Northampton-based research center that tracks federal spending.
