On Monday night, Pittsfield Police arrested a second man in a string of armed robberies. According to a press release, police arrested Damian P. Ivas around 6:20 p.m. Monday on warrants issued in connection to six robberies. Police identified Ivas, 40, of Pittsfield, Friday, Jan. 29 charging him with six counts of armed robbery while masked and asking for the public’s help in finding him.

According to the release, Ivas is also charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, a knife, and resisting arrest. No officers were injured in Monday night’s arrest. He is being held on $100,000 bail.

The six robberies, which date back to December, are the same ones for which 30-year-old George Bliss was charged in connection with and arrested for in January.
