Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey says she's backing Hillary Clinton for president. Healey becomes the highest profile Democrat in the state to throw her support behind the Democratic front-runner.Other top Democrats, including U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, have stopped short of endorsing any candidate in the Democratic field.
Gov. Charlie Baker, the state's top Republican, has declined to endorse a candidate in the GOP presidential primary.
Healey says she plans to campaign for the former U.S. secretary of state in New Hampshire, Aug. 29th.
In an email to supporters, Healey says Clinton's economic plan will fight what the attorney general calls the nation's core challenge — pay equity and raising incomes for everyday Americans.
