As members of Congress decide whether to support the Iran nuclear agreement being pushed by the Obama administration, Connecticut’s Elizabeth Esty is inviting her constituents to share their thoughts on the deal.The Connecticut Democrat from the fifth district is hosting a telephone town hall tonight at 7.
“You should call 877-229-8493,” Esty said. “Then there’s a PIN number – 112878.”
Congresswoman Esty was in Israel last week with more than 20 fellow Democrats. The trip was funded by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which has been lobbying against the deal.
With a Republican majority in Congress, approval hinges on Democratic support. Most notably, New York Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer is opposing the deal, which Congress must vote on by September 17th.
