School and town leaders in Cheshire, Massachusetts have scheduled informational meetings on an August 5th override vote needed to fund a regional school district’s budget back to the voters.With a turnout of 18 percent last month Cheshire voters defeated an override measure needed to fund the town’s portion of the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District’s budget. Seeking another override vote, informational meetings are scheduled for July 23rd and 27th at Cheshire Elementary School. Both start at 6:30.
“Make sure people realize what we did, why we did and where the money is going to,” said Cheshire Selectwoman Carol Francesconi.
Cheshire’s assessment for the school’s budget is $90,000 over the town’s levy limit.
