The Chittenden County Transportation Authority says it has not yet received a proposal from its striking drivers that could lead to an end of the three-day strike of about 70 county bus drivers.

In a statement sent out Wednesday, the company says if a proposal "shows real movement forward" that will be an important measure of "how serious the union is about ending the strike."

The drivers went on strike Monday after they rejected a proposed contract and a call by the company for binding arbitration.

The union says the most important issues separating the two sides are working conditions and discipline.

CCTA says that if it receives "a serious proposal representing compromise" officials will be willing to sit down and negotiate.
