Plans Announced For Red Sox Victory Parade In Boston

A parade to celebrate the Red Sox World Series championship will be held in Boston Saturday.

The “ rolling rally”  as it has come to be known when Boston celebrates a sports championship will feature the players riding  duck boats. It will began at 10 a.m. at Fenway Park and wind down Boylston Street eventually ending up with the amphibious craft in the Charles River.  The plans were outlined by Boston Mayor Tom Menino at a brief city hall news conference.

Team officials said Saturday was chosen for the parade so that parents could bring their children.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
