A former elected official in western Massachusetts has pleaded guilty to charges in a voter fraud scheme.
A former selectmen from East Longmeadow is facing sentencing Wednesday after pleading guilty to multiple charges that involved changing the party registrations of almost 300 voters from Democrat to un-enrolled and then requesting absentee ballots. At the time the scheme was uncover and he was arrested a year ago, 35 year old Jack Villamiano was a candidate in a Republican primary for state representative. After he entered the guilty pleas, Monday, in a state court in Springfield, a judge revoked Villiamiano’s $10,000 bail. Hampden District Attorney Mark Mastrionni is asking the judge to sentence Villimiano to a year in prison.
