11 Ready-to-Work Vermont Students Recognized

Vermont Governor's Office

Eleven Williamstown High School students are being recognized as ready to work after they completed a 15-week pilot program run by their school and the Community College of Vermont.

Governor Peter Shumlin presented the students with the Governor's Career Ready Certificates on Thursday. The students also met with members of the Vermont House and Senate education committees at the Statehouse to talk about the program.

In January the students completed the course in which they worked on tasks such as microcomputer applications, effective speaking, résumé writing, and more.

Williamstown teacher Sandy Fitzmorris says the course prepared students for the next phase of their lives, whether it’s college or the workforce.
