Bank of America Will Close More Branches in Mass.

Bank of America Corp., the biggest bank in Massachusetts, plans to close four more branches in the state in March.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based bank announced that it plans to close offices at Center Plaza in Boston, Chace Road in Freetown, Court Street in Plymouth, and North Main Street in Springfield. In addition, the bank plans to eliminate the drive-up window at its branch on Main Street in Westfield.

The Boston Globe reports that the bank has already closed dozens of branches in Massachusetts in the last few years.

The Massachusetts closures are part of a wider plan by the bank to close 750 of its roughly 5,700 U.S. branches and eliminate at least 30,000 jobs over the next few years.
