Sullivan County Legislature Meetings Reopen To The Public In Person

Sullivan County government

In New York, Sullivan County Legislature meetings are reopening to the public in person Thursday. And on the agenda is a proposed salary cut for county management that resulted in a heated debate among legislators two weeks ago.

Beginning at Thursday morning’s legislature meeting, a limited number of audience members will be permitted in the hearing room in the government center in Monticello. Seating will be limited to 50 people, with half reserved for the public and the other half for government officials. Members of the public are required to wear masks and socially distance. As part of this gradual reopening, audience members are welcome to sign up to speak during the public comment portion of the full Board session. However, comments about non-elected county personnel will not be permitted. On Thursday’s executive agenda is a resolution to cut the salaries of a number of county employees.
