Given the COVID-19 crisis, a college in New York’s Hudson Valley is adjusting its application window for local students.
Officials at Annandale-on-Hudson-based Bard College say they’ve been fielding questions in recent weeks from local families who are reevaluating their college plans in favor of options closer to home. For applicants from Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan and Ulster Counties, Bard reopened its application window April 1, and it stays open through May 1, with decisions arriving by mid-May. In addition, Bard is expanding its scholarship program for Hudson Valley students, to lower the cost of Bard to the equivalent of annual tuition, room and board of a nearby state institution, the University at Albany.
