Candidates in New York state’s 41st Senate District will participate in a discussion Tuesday about aging in place and home care.
Incumbent Republican state Senator Sue Serino and Democrat Karen Smythe will be at the FDR Library in Hyde Park for the talk that includes a viewing of the documentary CARE, which depicts bonds that form between caregivers and those for whom they care, while pointing to flaws in the U.S. care system. A panel discussion will follow along with comments from Serino and Smythe, on topics from local challenges and solutions in home care and elder care to the state’s infrastructure for such care. The event is from 1-to-4 p.m. and is hosted by Hand in Hand, The New York Caring Majority and Rhinebeck at Home.
