Former Vice President Joe Biden will be in New York and Connecticut Friday to stump for Democratic candidates. His appearances come after he is among the latest prominent Democrat to whom a suspicious package was addressed and intercepted.
Biden will be at the Senate Garage in Kingston for a Get Out the Vote Rally for 19th Congressional District candidate Antonio Delgado. Delgado faces incumbent Republican John Faso. Biden is then scheduled to head to Hartford in the afternoon, to headline a Democratic rally at Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy. Biden will be joined by U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, 5th Congressional District candidate Jahana Hayes, gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont and others. Crude pipe bombs were sent to Biden and actor Robert De Niro. Investigators say the intercepted bombs are similar to ones sent to former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and CNN earlier in the week.
