Police Say Husband, Wife Are Dead After Murder-Suicide At WMC

Police have identified the two people who died in a murder-suicide at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.

Police say the two were husband and wife — 71-year-old Richard DeLucia and 70-year-old Ann DeLucia, who was a patient at the hospital. County police were notified shortly after 9:30 Wednesday morning that shots had been fired on the hospital’s fourth floor. Police arrived to find Ann DeLucia had been shot in her bed and her husband, along with the .38-caliber revolver he used, on the floor. Both died of a single gunshot wound. County police detectives found a note Wednesday afternoon at the DeLucia residence in Yorktown in which the husband indicated that he was distraught over his wife’s medical issues and wanted to end her suffering.
