A New York congresswoman has put her name to a resolution introduced Thursday to censure President Trump for his recent comments about certain countries.

Lower Hudson Valley Congresswoman Nita Lowey is co-sponsoring the resolution introduced by Louisiana’s Cedric Richmond and New York’s Jerrold Nadler, both Democrats. Lowey, Ranking Democrat on the House Appropriations Committee, says the president’s words during a January 11 meeting on immigration relating to African nations were vulgar and racist. The resolution also calls out Trump’s remarks about Haiti and El Salvador. The resolution calls on Trump to retract and apologize for the hateful, discriminatory and racist remarks and any offense they caused.
