SUNY New Paltz Makes A Change To Its Undergrad Graduation

The State University of New York at New Paltz is changing the format of its undergraduate gradation.

Beginning May 2017, SUNY New Paltz will split its undergraduate commencement into two main ceremonies, with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences one day and the Schools of Science & Engineering; Business; Education; and Fine & Performing Arts the next day. Both ceremonies will take place on the Old Main Quad. The change is because of increased enrollment and graduation rates and the need to conduct more manageable and secure graduations. In 2016, nearly 2,000 students were eligible, roughly 1,400 participated, and there were abpiut 9,000 to 10,000 people attending the ceremony.
