Orange County officials say their drug task force has charged a mother and her son with felony weapon possession and another 11 defendants with selling drugs.
The task force searched a residence on Airport Road in the Town of Wallkill and seized a number of weapons, including a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun. It was the home of the Peoples, and they charged 40-year-old Angela Peoples and her 17-year-old son. Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler says 11 other defendants were charged with possessing and selling a number of controlled substances, including heroin, Xanax, crack cocaine Oxycodone, and Suboxone. Drug Task Force investigators had information concerning alleged illegal drug sales in Washingtonville, Walden, Monroe, the City of Newburgh, Middletown, New Windsor, and Wallkill.
