In a few closely watched races, incumbents in the Hudson Valley were victorious in their Assembly primaries, according to unofficial results.

In the 98th Assembly District, freshman Republican incumbent Karl Brabenec defeated Monroe resident John Allegro. Allegro says he will appear on the November ballot, though, likely on the United Monroe line, pending the outcome of a court case. On the Democratic side, Rockland County legislator Aron Weider beat Monroe resident Krystal Serrano. Incumbent Democratic Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee handily won her primary in Rockland County. And Republican Kevin Byrne defeated Suzanne McDonough in the 94th Assembly District race, where Republican Steve Katz is not seeking re-election.
